Build a lyre. Slow down. Listen to God’s voice.

There are seasons when our souls are tired—not because we’ve done something wrong, but because life has been loud, fast, and demanding. If you’ve been craving a reset—something simple, meaningful, and grounded—this retreat may be an invitation your heart has been waiting for.
This year at Evergreen Farm, we’re hosting RéCreate – David’s Harp, a four-day retreat designed for those who long to slow down, work with their hands, and listen again for God’s voice in a quieter rhythm.
This is not a conference. It’s a pause. A return to simple faith, intentional work, and unhurried presence.
What RéCreate Is
RéCreate – David’s Harp is a four-day retreat and workshop held in Moravian Falls, led by the Evergreen team. It blends hands-on craftsmanship, rest, worship, meaningful conversation, and time in nature.
We believe that creating with God—not just for God—has the power to realign our hearts. When our hands are engaged and our pace is slow, space opens for listening, reflection, and renewal.
What You’ll Make
During the retreat, each participant builds a seven-string lyre from start to finish.
No prior woodworking or musical experience is required. We teach basic woodworking skills and guide you step by step—from raw wood to a finished instrument. By the end of the retreat, you’ll take your completed lyre home with you.
Many participants say one of the most meaningful moments is worshiping together with the very instrument they built—creation becoming an act of praise.
What You’ll Experience
RéCreate is intentionally unhurried. The rhythm of the week allows room for both silence and conversation, work and rest.
You can expect:
Hands-on craftsmanship and instrument building
Rest and simple, unforced rhythms
Worship and Scripture-centered reflection
Honest conversations about faith, calling, and everyday obedience
Time in nature to pray, read, and listen
Throughout the week, we pause often—reflecting together on what God is forming in us and what it looks like to follow Jesus in daily life. Iron sharpens iron, in a peaceful place.
Food and Lodging
The retreat takes place in our new workshop at Evergreen Farm. All meals and lodging are included.
Each participant stays in a private guest house or guest room on the property, offering both comfort and quiet—space to rest, reflect, and fully engage in the retreat.

What Past Participants Are Saying
Keith“RéCreate helped me imagine how creating can fit with my spiritual walk. Caleb’s encouragement to create with the Lord—not just for the Lord—stayed with me. And my harp sounds amazing. After building, we worshiped together with what we made… what a privilege.”
Rylan“The fellowship and hospitality were a huge part of it. The workshop pace gave room for real conversations, and Caleb taught in a way that never rushed me. What I loved most was how it gave me space to pray, read my Bible, and refocus.”
