The Journey of Evergreen Missions

In 2020, as the world shut down amidst a global pandemic, our overseas missions work among unreached people groups in Southeast Asia underwent a major shift—one that would forever change the trajectory of our ministry.

What unfolded during that time was not the result of strategic planning or human wisdom. It was a move birthed entirely from the Father’s divine leading and provision. We share this testimony not to take credit, but to glorify God and explain the"why" behind what we do—especially as it relates to the Evergreen Farm, regenerative farming, and instrument making.

A Word That Changed Everything

Let’s go back to 2018. Evergreen Missions was actively serving multiple tribal groups across the Philippines, Fiji, and Kiribati. We were deeply involved in discipleship, ministry programs, and community outreach.

In the midst of this busy season, I took a short prayer journey to seek the Lord. During that time, the Holy Spirit spoke clearly to my heart:“It’s time to empower indigenous leaders. You need to step back and allow My people to rise up and go to their own people.”

That word struck deeply. It was both encouraging and challenging. Transitioning from being on the ground ourselves to supporting and empowering local and indigenous missionaries wasn't easy—but it was essential. What followed was a shift rooted in relationship, intentionality, and trust. This word became one of our core values:“We aren’t interested in building anything that isn’t fed by the river of relationship.”

God remained faithful to that word—and then came 2020.

When the World Shut Down, the Mission Moved Forward

As travel restrictions shut down international missions, we found ourselves “grounded.” But because of the steps we took in 2018, our work didn’t stop—it flourished. Indigenous missionaries we had empowered continued serving faithfully in their communities.

That’s why we created the Support Our Missionaries fund—to invest in these leaders not just emotionally, but also financially, spiritually, and physically. We want them to be healthy, strong, and fully equipped for the work God has called them to.

In addition to this, we initiated Missions Exposure Trips where people from the United States can serve on a short term mission to the on-going tribal work in the nations.

The Unexpected Birth of Evergreen Farm

In the stillness of 2020, we found ourselves unable to travel—but the Lord was far from inactive. He began opening doors for us in a small town with a big spiritual legacy: Moravian Falls, North Carolina.

We had visited Moravian Falls many times to pray and seek the Lord, but we never imagined living there. Yet in His divine orchestration, He led us to a 49-acre property nestled in the Brushy Mountains on a place known as Prayer Mountain.

When we first stepped onto the land, it was completely raw—no buildings, no electricity, just vision and hope. That’s where Evergreen Farm was born.

The Vision of Evergreen Farm

The Lord has given us a fourfold vision for the farm:

  1. Missions: Evergreen Farm is a landing place—a home base where our team and fellow missionaries can be refreshed, equipped, and re-sent to the nations.

  2. Instruments & Worship: This land is a place to redeem ancient sounds of worship unto Jesus. It’s a space for crafting instruments, training artisans, and restoring creative expression to the glory of God.

  3. Community: Evergreen Farm is a gathering place for the Body of Christ in Moravian Falls to worship, pray, and pursue God together.

  4. Regenerative Farming: Just as God placed Adam in the garden to work and tend it (Genesis 2:15), this farm exists to cultivate healthy food and steward animals in a way that serves families and reflects God’s design for creation.

Embracing the Pace

Since establishing the farm, we’ve witnessed the incredible faithfulness of God. We’ve baptized and discipled people. We’ve crafted hundreds of instruments. We've welcomed interns to live and work alongside us. Animals have been raised, gardens have bloomed, and worship has risen from this land.

We don’t share this to boast, but to honor those of you who have prayed for us, invested in us, and believed in the vision. We are committed to moving forward with intentionality and trust.

As one of our dear neighbors once said:“You have to learn to embrace the pace.”

And that’s what we’re doing—learning to walk in rhythm with the Lord. Because unless we are connected to Him, we’re just working for Him. But when we abide in Him, we get to work with Him.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
